More of an artist's residency than a retreat, we will be plugging into the heart of the most eclectic city in America to open a portal to our most connected selves. This immersion is for listening, trusting and awakening our somatic intelligence, and raw expression of feminine primal power, Shakti wisdom within us.

Daily practices will include heart centered meditations, erotic movement arts® dances, partner work, creative play and voice work.

  • As a sacred circle, we will dedicate our practices to the healing of collective, ancestral, and individual shame- transforming it into raw courage, radical self love and electric creativity.

  • Through compassionate and deep somatic healing sessions, you will connect to what your body is saying through your senses and have daily opportunities to reveal your creativity through dance, spontaneous movement, writing and sharing.

Temple House Nola, the brainchild of acclaimed artist and filmmaker John Cameron Mitchell, stands as a unique and vibrant art church and creative residency in the heart of New Orleans.

The ethos of Temple House Nola is to foster an environment where creative energies converge, encouraging the free exchange of ideas and the organic development of new projects.

This intentional environment has enabled artists to bring their visions to fruition and contribute to the rich tapestry of their wildness within.

This extraordinary venue, envisioned as a sanctuary for artistic expression, is centered around a magnificent ballroom that we will have full access to let ourselves be held in collaboration, expression and shameless joy.

The entire space is a living testament to JCM’s eclectic tastes and artistic journey, adorned with a deeply personal collection of rock and roll and cinematic artifacts, and a striking array of erotic art.

Temple House Nola is located in Bywater, the coolest neighborhood in New Orleans. With vibrantly decorated Creole cottages and shotgun houses; your walk from your incredible lodgings will be just one of the many treasure for your senses in this retreat.

Rié Katagiri is a Los Angeles based conscious movement educator, somatic holistic healer, embodiment coach and choreographer, as well as a spiritual embodiment facilitator who specializes in engaging the body's intelligence to access space and pleasure to integrate it as a new normal- a guiding light towards soothing anxiety, body shame and emotional triggers.

With 20 years of formal training in bodywork, yoga, qigong and erotic/pole dance, Rie has expertly created workshops, teacher training programs and coached award wining artists to elevate their body and energy awareness.

For me, New Orleans is like Halloween every day—a city pulsating with a special energy that invites you to let your hair down and awaken your sexiest, most shamelessly creative self. Since 2017, I've been visiting New Orleans, and no other U.S. city has offered me such a vibrant life force. It's been a place of profound transformation and spiritual upliftment. Despite its history of devastation, the city radiates unparalleled joy.

I understand New Orleans isn't for everyone, and it's certainly not a typical retreat destination. But that's precisely why it's the perfect place to discover what new possibilities will unfold for you. Its unpredictability, grittiness, and wildness beckon personal exploration, awakening the artist within and revealing the creative matter we are truly made of. It's a spiritually powerful place that equally honors authenticity, ritual, rawness, passion, craftsmanship, and delightful weirdness.
