Movement Coaching + intimacy coordination

“that which we call thinking is the evolutionary internalizing of movement ”

Rodolfo Llinas (Neurophysiologist)

Rie is not your typical movement coach.

She brings 20 years of body mechanics and somatic healing experience on top of dance and movement work for actors. Her approach to Movement / Intimacy Coaching & Choreography is anchored in a collaborative, creative and supportive environment that allows the real felt experiences of the project to be moved through the body of the performers.

Rie has worked on award wining films as a specialist in coaching actresses looking to embody the wild feminine on screen.

benefits of Movement Coaching

When a production makes the smart choice to bring on an embodiment specialist into the process, the physicality, emotions and relationships between the characters feel significantly more real. Hiring a movement coach also assists the artist to feel more supported and safe during projects that rely on specific physical language to tell the story or movements that are unnatural to the artist. These smart choices can make just enough of shift in performances that allow for a wider global audience to be impacted by your project.

Emma Myers and Brady Noon talk about working with Rie on Family Switch (Netflix, 2023)

“Rie was an essential part of the team that brought Where the Crawdads Sing to life. She helped cast members develop very specific body language for their characters across a span of ages.  On set, Rie kept a conscious eye on both the consistency and fluidity of movements and on the safety of the actors. She also created an incredibly safe environment for intimacy work.

Rie was so beloved by the Crawdads cast and such a support to me, that I brought her onto my next project, The Last Thing He Told Me, to conduct body movement and intimacy workshops for all of our lead actors.

Rie brings such a wide breadth of knowledge about the body and performance, and such a vibrant and beautiful spirit, she is truly an asset to any set. I can't recommend her enough for any production and cannot wait for the next opportunity to work with her .”

“Rie was an amazing dance teacher, I think it’s actually an amazing thing for a young woman because you’re growing up, figuring out your body, working it out… she’s so sensual about the human female body and she said that each moment where you kind of strike a sexy pose, it should feel like a stretch for you so it was a great experience learning to do all that. Very nerve wracking when I had to do it on camera but she was there and she was really supportive”.
